Angel of the Night was my debut short film, shot on ZERO budget at the end of last year.

A two minute version of the short film was entered into the Zone Horror TV CUT! 2009 competition. The original deadline for entries was the end of October 2009, then it was extended to November, then December and finally January 4th 2010. If I’m honest, I’d totally forgotten as a result of all the deadline extensions. So I was utterly amazed to find out that my film had made it through to the top 10 short listed films for the major prize – £2,000 and lots of exposure on the satellite TV channel.

I can’t explain just how excited I am at this news. It’s my first competition entry, my first short film infact, so to be shortlisted out of the many hundreds of entries in to this competition is a proud moment – and a huge step in the right direction for my filmmaking career.

What happens next then? The ten shortlisted films will now be shortened to just three and then the winner will be announced.

I’ll keep you posted on how our film gets on, we’re up against other really good short films shot on very little budgets.

If we were to win, and that’s a BIG if, the £2,000 prize would go towards my next short film Love Like Hers, which would seriously help us get to our $8,000 dollar target.
