10 days and counting for principal photography

The date for principal photography on my short horror film will be Monday 14th September.

That gives me ten days to get everything ready and yes… I am nervous!

Having said that, as long as I keep things simple and small scale everything should run smoothly. I’ll be out and about scouting for a location for the traditional pub scene, already got the woods location sorted.

I hope to have ALL the actors in place on Wednesday evening after the screen test. There’s a few TV actors that are VERY interested in the project, actors with very impressive CV’s!! Looking forward to Wednesday evening and casting the parts.

I’m toying with the idea of DoP’ing the film myself. Shooting on a Sony Z1 in HDV – remember, this is a no budget short horror film. The question is – do I shoot in SD using my Canon XL1 as an alternative?? Decisions, decisions.

I’m still looking for a sound recordist and a basic lighting kit. If you know anyone close to Yorkshire who may be able (and willing) to help do please do get in touch – dannylacey@stadamedia.co.uk
